Vaulting might be caused by physical conditions like an ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) that points the foot downward, making the leg seem longer. Additionally, spasticity in the quadriceps can lock the knee, preventing it from bending during walking. Finally, a lack of hip flexor strength can contribute, as the leg can’t lift efficiently on its own.
